Not every shortlisted candidate is worth a formal check.
Background verification is expensive and slow, and often run on candidates who would not have passed anyway. AgentR sits before that step — a lightweight consistency read that flags likely problems, so BGV spend goes toward candidates actually worth it. It does not replace formal BGV, and it does not contact institutions or employers itself.
- A filter before formal verification, not a replacement for it.
- No institutions or past employers are contacted. This is a consistency read, not a verification call.
- Nobody is rejected by a machine.
how the system behaves, not a benchmark
A background check is not where integrity screening should start.
BGV is expensive and slow. It should run on candidates who have already cleared a cheaper consistency read, not on everyone who reaches your shortlist.
A filter, not a replacement
Formal verification still happens. It runs on fewer, better-qualified candidates, because the ones unlikely to clear it were flagged before you paid for the check.
The same rigour, earlier
Tenure, title, education and project-ownership claims are read for consistency before the funnel reaches a formal check, so cost and time are not spent on candidates who would not pass anyway.
How a claim gets judged.
- provenDates, scope or title line up with what is claimed
Tenure and role claims that are internally consistent and plausible for the company and stage. Counts in full.
- describedPlausible, but nothing pins it down precisely
A role or project is named without dates or scope specific enough to check closely. Counts, at roughly seventy percent.
- mentionedThe claim appears with nothing attached to it
A degree or title listed with no dates, no institution detail, nothing to weigh it against.
- not foundDates or scope do not add up, or point the other way
Recorded with high confidence and flagged for review before any BGV spend follows it.
What it will not do.
- It will not contact institutions, universities, or past employers. No formal verification calls are made.
- It will not issue any kind of legal or compliance-grade verification certificate. It is not a substitute for your BGV vendor.
- It will not replace your existing BGV process. It reduces which candidates need to go through it, and how urgently.
- It will not claim cross-border institutional reach it does not have. Especially relevant where data and verification constraints are real.
“The detailed, evaluation-backed rankings bring a new layer of trust to every hiring decision, something traditional ATSs often miss.”
